Just before the end of 2017, Apple admitted to slowing down the performance on older iPhone models to correct a battery-related issue.
Multiple software-fixes later, many customers still experienced unexpected (and unacceptable) shutdowns.
To their credit, Apple later announced a massive reduction to the price of out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacements (cut from £79 to £25) but this reduction is ending soon and we would urge any customers with an iPhone 6/6S or older to seek a replacement from Apple directly. The best way to do this is to contact your local Apple Store using this link.
